The challenge

The Digital Forensics Challenge (DFC) 2026 hands you evidence files and asks you to reconstruct what happened, with a write-up detailed enough for another examiner to reach the same conclusion. It ran in two rounds from July 1 to September 30, 2026, and I entered the general division on my own.

One subagent per problem

I split the challenge problem by problem and gave each one to its own gpt-5.6-sol subagent. The 10 problems of Round 1 and the 9 sets of Round 2 each ran separately; I split the work, collected the results, and submitted them.
